Capricare® is committed to setting the global standard for sustainable farming and champions climate action with low-carbon milk production. Capricare® whole goat milk formula (WGF) is ideal for loved ones wanting to provide their healthy infants and toddlers with an easy-to-digest formula for a naturally gentle start.
Capricare® is safe and well-tolerated and is brought to you by the world leaders in goat milk and goat milk nutrition, Dairy Goat Co-Operative.
Whole goat milk formula (WGF) was first used in New Zealand and Australia over 30 years ago. Capricare® is made by Dairy Goat Co-operative, the pioneer and inventor of goat milk infant formula.
Yes, the GIraFFE Study^TM^ , one of the largest nutritional intervention study ever conducted in infants, demonstrated that Capricare® whole goat milk formula (WGF) can help protect infants from atopic dermatitis (AD) especially in the presence of a family history of the disease^5^*. This study adds to previous evidence that showed a trend of a 1/3 lower risk of eczema over 12 months in infants fed WGF^12^*
Capricare® is made by Dairy Goat Co-operative, the pioneer and world leader in goat milk formulas. Dairy Goat Co-operative is based in New Zealand and owned by farmers who supply the milk. Their farms are on some of New Zealand’s richest pastures.
Animal welfare is central to our ethical farming philosophy. New Zealand’s mild climate means our goats are not locked in dark sheds. Our happy goats roam freely in spacious open-air barns, sheltered from rain and able to express natural behaviours like climbing, foraging, and playing. Our goats are cared for to a high standard reflecting New Zealand’s strict regulations and our commitment to sustainability.
All drugs, including antibiotics, are highly regulated in New Zealand, where Capricare® is made. Naturally healthy goats reduce the need for medical interventions such as antibiotics and medications. However, antibiotics are used in some exceptional circumstances to treat infections. In this case, all milk collected during treatment and several days after treatment is discarded. Milk is routinely tested at each delivery to ensure it is free from antibiotic residues.
Infant formula is designed to deliver specific amounts of nutrients in each scoop. It is okay to mix formulas for a short time (3–7 days) when switching from another formula. Mixing formulas for a longer period runs the risk of making feeds over or under-concentrated, causing potential discomfort or an imbalance of nutrients.
The best way is to gradually replace one formula with another over 3–7 days. Start by replacing one scoop of your current formula with Capricare® when making up the bottle. After 1 or 2 days, replace another scoop with Capricare® until, eventually, all the scoops are from Capricare®.
Like cow milk formula, goat milk must be supplemented with vitamins and minerals to meet the infant’s needs. Vitamins and minerals, such as folic acid, vitamin B_12_, C, D, E, and iron, are present in Capricare® in adequate quantities to supply the necessary intake for the infant.
Our milk comes from well-fed goats raised in healthy conditions. Capricare® whole goat milk formula is gently processed for better taste, making feeding easier and boosting the infant’s appetite.^1^
The Dairy Goat Co-operative makes Capricare®, and their formulas can be found in 30 countries worldwide. Apart from Capricare®, our WGF is also sold under different names such as Karihome, DG, Golden Goat, Nannycare or Nanny depending on the country it is sold in.
